Hi there, and welcome! I’m Gretchen Leneaye, the face behind Three Compass Journeys—a name inspired by the three incredible boys who guide my life just like a compass guides an adventure.
I’m a full-time working mom, wife to my best friend of 24 years, and passionate travel planner who believes that every trip—whether it’s a weekend getaway or a cross-country adventure—deserves to be memorable, meaningful, and most of all… fun!
From St. Louis Weekends to Coast-to-Coast Memories
When my husband and I were newly married, our vacations were simple weekend trips to St. Louis, Missouri, often staying with family and finding joy in the little things. As the years passed and our family grew, so did our travel experiences.
We’ve spent countless summers in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, hiking the trails of the Great Smoky Mountains, splashing in creeks, and exploring the shops of Pigeon Forge. When we weren’t in the mountains, you could find us relaxing on the sugar-white sands of Destin, Florida—playing in the ocean, eating our way through local restaurants, or cruising to Crab Island on a rented pontoon.
Eventually, our adventures expanded beyond our usual favorites—from the charming shores of Cape May, New Jersey to the breathtaking wilds of Alaska—and many places in between.
A Love for the Planning (Almost as Much as the Trip!)
The truth is, I love the planning just as much as the travel itself. Researching destinations, finding the perfect place to stay, packing lists, and reading about all the best things to do—that’s my happy place!
While deep in one of my trip-planning sessions, I discovered Cornerstone Travel and thought: Why not turn this passion into something more? That was my lightbulb moment—what if I could help others plan their dream vacations and live vicariously through their journeys, too?
